                                                                  Meeting Minutes

                                                                     6 June 2006

 

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order at The Windjammer following the club's mini tournament at Carter Lake. There were 16 members and 2 guests in attendance.

Secretarys Report: The Secretary read the minutes from the May meeting. There was one correction. It was erroneously reported that Scott Sheldon would recieve $100 from the club to help offset expenses at The Western Divisional Tournament, Columbia River Wash. Jeremy Montoya was the individual that fished the tournament and recieved the money. A motion was made and seconded to accept the corrected Secretary's report-motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer reported that the club has $2296.96 in its treasury. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's report-motion carried.

Tournament Directors Report: In the absence of The Tournament Director, Pres. Lind reported on the excellent tournament this past weekend at Box Butte Neb. The next weekend tournament is 17-18 June-Horsetooth Res.

Old Business: Bill Wilson reported on the status of the Full Moon Open and gave a brief description of The FMO for the benefit of the new members.

Casting Kids: Mike Hubbard reported that there will be a Casting Kids event at Dicks Sporting Goods on 24 and 25 June. Volunteers are need to help and are requested to bring their boats to the event.

CAST: Bill Wilson reported that the event is scheduled for 10 June at Horsetooth Res. starting at 6AM at the South Bay boat area. Volunteers are needed for the entire event. A description of The CAST event was given by Bill Wilson for the benefit of the new members.

CBF: Jeff Colwell gave a detailed description of the 6 man STQT format. If the clubs can form up at least 1-6man team to fish the tournament, it will not be cancelled. The tourney is scheduled for 19-20 Aug. at Navajo Res. 19 Aug. being the pre-fish day and 20 Aug. the tournament day. 14 July is the absolute last day to register for the tournament. $100 entry fee per person plus $50 big bass. Pres. Lind oped the floor for discussion and there were many suggestions on how to pick the individuals for the 6 man team, plus 1 alternate. Mike Hubbard made a motion that all CBC members be contacted and asked if they had any interest in participating in such a tournament and that a vote be taken at the July 11th meeting to determine who the 6 team members and 1 alternate would be. Motion seconded-motion carried.

Website: VP Villa will update the website with pictures of the various tournaments and the results of said tournaments.

Lisa Evans from DOW requests volunteers for help at Louis Swift's Ponds with some Scouts. No interest shown-subject dropped.

New Business: Pres. Lind reported on an interview he and Bill Wilson had with a consulting firm, EBAW Inc. hired by Larimer County Parks and Rec. Since CBC is considered a "user group" of Larimer Cty. Parks and Rec. Pres. Lind and Bill Wilson brought several items up for discussion such as boat dock lighting, the rebuilding of structures to help improve the fish habitat at Horsetooth Res. and last but not least the continual increase in fees charged by Larimer Cty. Parks and Rec. There are public workshops put on by the county and CBC members are urged to attend.

New members Brian Ashe and Matt Snider gave CBC members a description of their website, fishexploer.com. Members are urged to check it out.

Next meeting is 11 July at a location yet to be announced. Watch the website.

There being no further business for the good of the order, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting-meeting adjourned.
