II.          Secretary’s Report: Minutes were read by Frank Villa.

IV.       Old Business:

           

            a. Carter Lake Walleye Regulation

            Presentation By Bob Todd, Colorado Walleye/Sauger Work Group.  Bob discussed the possible walleye restrictions that they are proposing for carter lake.  He also handed out a document with all the information for the proposal.  The walleye guys are writing letters about their experiences with the walleye fishing and asked if we could send some to about our walleye and bass fishing experiences at Carter Lake.  You can contact Bob at 970-532-2213 on where to send those.           

 

            b. Conservation Update:

            SHELDON LAKE PROJECT:

            Dump Trucks in the lake moving dirt, Will probably need help soon.

 

            ANGLERS FOR HORSETOOTH:

            Ken has the final documents and is waiting for final approval from the City of Ft. Collins.  We should see something in about 2 weeks.  More Next Month

 

            c. Full Moon Open Committee Update:

            Rules, Entry Form, and Flyer are almost complete watch the website for them. 

 

            d. C.A.S.T. date set for June 28, 2003

 

            e. New Member Recruitment (Ben Lind):

            Ben is working on some ideas.  Any suggestions let Ben know.

 

            f. Casting for Kids Report (Craig McMillin)

                        1. Sportsmans Warehouse Event: 22 kids competed.  The 11 – 14 y/o was won by Tyler Lind of Windsor with a score of 130 points.  He won a Zebco fishing Rod.  There was a tie in the 7 – 10 y/o, Kyle Gertner of Sterling, and Zachary Smith of Loveland each scored 90 points.

 

                        2. State Finals (RV & Boat Show, Thurs. 3/6/03 5-9pm)

                        3. February 22nd event TBA

           

V. New Business:

 

            a. Website Improvements:

            Website Updated, and Thank you to all that send info and look for errors.  I will place a link on the news page that discusses LMBV.

 

            b. Federation news:

            The money for the State Tourn. is due by March 15th, 2003.  Check must be written by home BASS Club.  There was some discussion on results of survey.  Steering committee was abolished.  We are back to the old format of each club having 3 votes.  There was more discussion on the voting format.  

There was a motion to have Doug Johns Check on starting another Federation in CO.  Seconded and Passed.

 

            c. March 4th swap meet

            d. Club Dues for 2003 and proof of Boat Insurance

            e. Donation to support State Team member (Jeff Colwell):

            Motion by Scott Sheldon to give Jeff $100.00, seconded and passed

            Motion by Frank V. to give Jeff $200.00 instead of $100.00, seconded and passed

            f. Gart Sports Gift:

            Gifts give to members that paid their dues.

            g. Presentation by Jeremy Montoya (Line)

            h. Terry Wykstrum:  He would like to film one of our Tournaments for his Television show, more info to come later.

            I. Free Fishing Day: Tom Miller stated that Carter Lake is sponsoring a Family fishing day.  This is to be held 1st full weekend of June 2003, club recruitment and advertisement possibility.

 

            j. ABA: Don Vaughn

            There was a large shad kill at Pueblo Res. But it doesn’t sound like a big deal right now.  He also presented information on 2003 schedule.  He will have a total of 6 tournaments in CO.  But with the water shortages he might have to take a couple into New Mexico.  The nationals will be in Kentucky.
