CBC Meeting Minutes

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order at 7:15PM with 17 members and no guests present.

Secretary's Report: The Secretary read the minutes from the Oct. meeting. There were no additions or corrections. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Secretary's report-motion carried.

Treasurers Report: In the absence of the Treasurer, Bill Wilson reported that the club has $683.99 in its general account and $1548.98 in its Full Moon Open account, for a total of $2232.97. Bill also reported that the $300 CBC donated to The ALS Foundation had been matched by another $300 of unknown origin.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's report-motion carried.

Tournament Director's Report: Nothing to report.

Conservation Director's Report: Bill Wilson reported on attending a meeting along with members of other user groups of Larimer County Parks. The Sail and

Saddle Club will cease to exist as of next year. A new swim beach will be added to the East side. There will be more camp sites on the West side.

Old Business:

Full Moon Open: The FMO Steering Committee will meet in Jan. 2007

C.A.S.T.: Bill Wilson reported on plaques that will be sent to the 2006 C.A.S.T. sponsors. The 2007 C.A.S.T. event will be the 1st weekend in June.

Casting Kids: Mike Hubbard reported on the event held in Longmont on 5 Nov. There have been a total of 6 Casting Kids events held by CBC in 2006. The equipment left over will be kept by CBC and possibly donated to individuals in future events, i.e. Jr. Bassmasters.

Jr. Bassmasters: Mike Hubbard reported that he has the necessary paperwork to start a Jr. Bassmasters club. 6 individuals, 18 years of age and younger are the minimum number required to start a club. CBC will need to provide a tournament for the Jr. Bassmasters. The entire procedure from setting up a club to enlisting members was discussed. Putting out flyers at various businesses and schools was discussed. It was decided that CBC's 2007 tournament schedule be confirmed before setting up a time and date to get together with potential members and their parents. There was much discussion on this subject as well as many suggestions.

Website Update: The club standings have been posted on the website.

CBF-BOD: On 18 Nov. 2006 at Sportsmans Warehouse, CBC will host the 3rd quarter BOD meeting at 12PM.

CBF is hosting the Western Divisionals 7-11 May 2007 at Lake Powell. Volunteers from CBC are Mike Hubbard, Bill Wilson and Blake Muhlenbruck. Some discussion followed as to how much money CBC should give the club's volunteers in order to help with expenses. Ken Graham suggested asking the CBF how much money they got from the boat raffle they held and could that money be used to help offset expenses incured by the volunteers. Bill Wilson made a motion to table the expense question till a later date-motion seconded and passed.

The floor was opened for additional nominations for the offices of Vice Pres. Secretary, Treasurer and Tournament Director. There being no further nominations from the floor, nominations were closed and the election of CBC's Officers for 2007 was held. The results are:

Vice President: Mike Hubbard

Secretary: Steve Barbie

Treasurer: Bret Vogel

Tournament Director: Ron Mayer

Robert Ross was appointed Youth Director

New Business:

Habitat Projects: Building a boat dock at Lone Tree was suggested. It was decided that much research needs to be done first along with talking with DOW. Grass planting projects were also talked about at Lone Tree and Horsetooth. Nothing decided. VP Villa, Eric Bergerson, Bill Wilson and Blake Muhlenbruck talked with The Town of Windsor about a conservation project at Windsor Lake. Much discussion followed.

Club Classic: VP Villa discussed the way the individuals are picked to go to the Club Classic.  8 lakes were suggested and voted upon with Ute Res. in New Mexico being the top choice. The Steering Committee will pick the dates. The lakes proposed for the club's mini-tournaments were Horsetooth, Lone Tree, Lon Hagler, Carter, Boyd and Chatfield. The lakes proposed for the club's weekend tournaments were Box Butte, Pueblo, Merritt, Cedar Bluffs, Norton, Red Willow, Horsetooth and Lake Conchus. The 4 selected were, Box Butte, Pueblo, Red Willow and Horsetooth with Lake Conchus as a backup.  Again The Steering Committee will pick the dates and submit them to the membership at the Dec. meeting. The Steering Committee will meet 13 Nov. 2006 at 6PM at Paninos Restaurant.

A suggestion was made to reward club members with points who participate in the club's activities i.e. C.A.S.T.  Casting Kids,  FMO.  Conservation Projects etc.

There being no further business before the floor, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:45PM-motion carried-meeting adjourned.

A raffle followed the meeting.
