CBC Meeting Minutes

                                                             5 Sept. 2006

 

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order at the residence of CBC club member Mike Hubbard after the club's last mini-tournament of the 2006 season. There were 16 members present and no guests.

Secretary's Report: There was no Secretary's report as there was no official August club meeting.

Treasurers Report: The club has $2975.79 in its Treasury with some deposits yet to be made.

Tournament Directors Report: The Tournament Director reported that there is a weekend tournament this coming weekend, 9-10 Sept. at Pueblo Res. Brandon White will host a BBQ for CBC members at his house on Sat. night the 9th of Sept.

Conservation Directors Report: No report at the Conservation Director was not present.

Old Business: The 2006 Full Moon Open Tournament was discussed and the dates for the 2007 FMO were brought up. They are as follows: 23 June, 28 July and 25 Aug. CBC members agreed on 28 July for the 2007 FMO.

CAST Update: Bill Wilson reported that there were some administrative problems with the last CAST event, but there is no definite info available at this time for the next CAST event.

Casting For Kids: Mike Hubbard reported that CBC hosted 5 Casting Kids events this year. More help is needed from CBC members for the Casting Kids events in the future. In the past there had not been enough interest expressed by people to make it worthwhile to start up a Jr. Bassmasters Club. VP Villa will put together some flyers to be distributed to sporting goods stores and possibly schools to generate interest in starting up a Jr. Bassmasters club. Mike Hubbard will order the necessary paperwork from BASS.

Website Update: VP Villa reported that there is a new mailing listed posted on the website.

CBF/BOD Meeting: Pres. Lind reported that the 6 man team concept did not work. STQT will be in Lake Amistad in Texas the last week of Feb. 2007. Individuals planning on attending are reminded that both a Texas and Mexico fishing license are required.

4th Quarter BOD meeting will be in Ft. Collins on 18 Nov.

Colorado is hosting The Western Divisionals to be held at Lake Powell 7-11 May 2007. Mike Hubbard volunteered to help.

New Business: The subject of last place points was discussed at great length. Bill Wilson made a motion to change the bylaws in the following manner. A member can pay the tournament fee for a weekend tournament one time and one time only and recieve last place points minus 10. Motion seconded and passed.

Ken Graham suggested that the non-boater gas fees for both mini and weekend tournaments be raised due to the increased fuel and oil costs. Much discussion followed. A motion was made and seconded to raise the non- boater gas fees on a mini tournament from $5 to $10 and the non-boater gas fees for a weekend tournament from $10 a day to $20 a day. Motion carried. THIS IS A TOURNAMENT RULE CHANGE AND WILL GO INTO EFFECT AT THE CBC'S WEEKEND TOURNAMENT ON 30 SEPT-1 OCT.

Jeff Colwell raised the subject about having more weigh-in tournaments versus card tournaments. Much discussion followed. A motion was made and seconded to table the subject until the club's next monthly meeting. Motion carried.

The discussion pertaining to raising the weekend tournament fees was also tabled until next month's meeting.

Bill Wilson said that CBC made approximately $2000 on The FMO and made a motion that the club should donate $100 to each of the food banks in the cities of Greeley, Loveland and Ft. Collins and also that CBC donate $300 to The ALS Foundation. Motion seconded-motion carried.

Doug Johns suggested that CBC adopt a boater, non-boater policy similiar to The ESPN format, in that seperate pots be established for the boater/non-boater. The subject was tabled until the next meeting.

Location for next month's regular meeting has yet to be announced. Members are encouraged to watch the website for details.

There being no further business before the floor, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting-motion carried-meeting adjourned.
