Centennial bass club meeting
President Frank Villa called the meeting to order at
Secretary Steve Barbee read the minutes for the December meeting. A motion was made to accept the minutes, and passed.
Treasurer Brett Vogal, reported that there is 664.15 in raffle funds, and 1574.79 in the
FMO fund. A motion was made to accept the treasures report, and passed
Tournament Director, Ron Mayer reported that anglers fishing
in the CBC classic would be able to access aerial maps of
Conservation - nothing to report.
Old Business
FMO director Bill Wilson reported the FMO will be held July
21- 22,
Cast- Bill Wilson reported that the annual Cast event is currently scheduled on the 2nd weekend of June which conflicts with the CBC tournament at Box Butte Bill will re-negotiate a different weekend for Cast.
Casting Kids- nothing to report.
Jr. Bassmasters-Mike Hubbard reported that new changes have occurred;
all paper work must be submitted as a complete packet with member applications.
We will try to have a meeting at the end of January, to submit new members by
February CBC support at the meeting would be appreciated. Frank Villa contacted
Jay Tapia at the
Website- Frank Villa reported that progress is on going. He will work with me as far as getting current contact info for the 07 member roster.
Federation- Frank Villa reported that the first quarter BOD
meeting will be held at
Letter from federation president Jay McMillin- Jay circulated a letter to federation members to attract new anglers to join a bass club. CBC will update its informational brochure to help recruit new members for us as well as for the federation. All new members’ names will be submitted to Jay, and 5 people will win a gift card to Bass Pro shops in a drawing.
Life Jacket Program- Craig McMillan is working to get necessary paper work to provide life jackets at Horestooth, and Carter lakes, on a loaner program. Life jackets will be provided at the guard shacks to kids by the day or weekend if they need one, at no charge. CBC can get up to 12 life jackets as well as two promotional signs to hang at the lakes.
Habitat Project- Bill Wilson reported that the club may have
access to 3 floating dock sections to be placed at Lone Tree. These dock
sections can be purchased for $350, which include extra Styrofoam, and cleats.
An anchor system needs to be engineered, and the DOW will maintain the dock. The
sections would create a dock 8’x 48’. CBC would possibly purchase the dock
through funds generated by the FMO, and donate it to Lone Tree state wildlife
area. Volunteers from the CBC would be needed to help in some repair of the
dock sections. Bill Wheedlton has figured out a way we could transport the
sections from
City of
In getting input from the CBC to help develop ponds along the Poudre trail area. This could possibly improve fishing from Island Grove along the Poudre trial.
Communications- Frank Villa reported that he would be interested in collecting information from club members concerning new lures, Tackle Company’s etc. to distribute
to the rest of the club.
New Business
City of
Larimer County Parks Fishing Tournament- Bill Wilson
reported that
Larimer County Symposium- Bill Wilson reported that April 1st Larimer County Symposium would be a good opportunity for a casting kids event, he did mention that a back stop as well as side protection, for the booth would be a good idea because large crowds and flying lures don’t mix.
Classic Lodging- George Mcambridge reserved 7 rooms for Thurs, Fri, and Sat.
He will call in April to confirm. The rooms are $40.50 per night roughly $25 per person per night after tax. Bill Wilson made a motion that the club pays half of the total balance in good faith to the hotel, and classic members will reimburse the club as well as the remaining balance by the April meeting. Total balance for each classic angler will be due at the April meeting. Motion was seconded, and passed with no opposition.
Presentation- Frank Villa represented Naked Bait Co., which he presented the skirt expander. It is a device which expands the skirt collar so you can insert skirts through an opening to produce skirt color and sizes of your choice. Much testing ensued, and after further review the Naked Bait Skirt Expander was deemed an engineering masterpiece.
