Meeting minutes 01/06/2009

 

President Mike Hubbard called meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. 12 members and 3 guests present. No new members to vote on.

Secretary report was read by Perry Flot. Motion and second to accept as read. Motion passed.

Treasurer report was given by Mike Hubbard in absence of Brett Vogel. Centennial Bass – $1531.09. FMO - $2464.92. Jr. bass Club – 354.23. Motion and second to accept. Motion passed.

Tournament Director, Proof of Insurance for all boaters before 1st tournament.

Conservation – NTR

FMO – Date is set for Aug. 8-9 7pm-7am. Bill Wilson gave a general overview for guests present. The tournament will be limited to 50 boats. Entry fee will be $150/team. Mike will set up so that entries can be done online. There will be an additional fee of $12.50 per team for this service collected by the online service company. Big bass pot should also be payable at time of entry and also will be accepted at check in. $20 was discussed for this but not finalized. The permit for last year was $225. No figure has been determined as of yet for this year. Robert Ross will act as Co-Director.

Casting Kids – NTR

Classic will be held at Navajo Reservoir April 25-26. Mike will contact Ron Mayer to see if he will participate. It was mentioned that Boater/Non boater status should be offered in descending order of placing if someone chooses to or cannot go. Bill Wilson will try to contact hotel. Mike Hubbard will also try to contact Southwest Club to try and get information for lodging and launching. Also mentioned that it will require two licenses to fish.

2009 Tourney schedule – Motion and second. Motion accepted. Schedule can be viewed on Club website.

Sportsmanship Award – Nominees were Ben Lind, Robert Ross, Mike Hubbard, Bill Wilson, Brandon White and Frank Villa. Recipient will be announced at April Meeting.

Jr. Bass Club – 8 kids signed up so far.

BOD – January 17, 1:00p.m. Bass Pro Shops. Mike Hubbard, Steve Barbee and Tim Martinez will attend.

Habitat – Lone Tree Dock – Mike has submitted request for Insurance certificate. Dates for install will be either March 28 & 29 or April 4 & 5. An extension has been applied for just in case. Waiver to be signed by volunteers. Club will be responsible for maint. For 10 years. An anchor system still needs to be figured out before installation.

New Business – Larimer County Natural Resources 2nd annual Youth/Mentor fishing tourney, Horsetooth, May 2, 2009. Admission is free. Register by April 26, 2009. Info. Can be found on club website or by calling Mark Caughlan at (970) 481-4120.

2008 AWARDS – Trout Award – Craig Mcmillin. 2008 Classic – 3rd Brandon White. 2ndMike Hubbard. 1st Ben Lind. Rookie of Year – Greg Gillin. AOY – 10th Robert Ross. 9th Bill Wheedleton 8th Tim Martinez 7th Bill Wilson 6th Greg Gillin 5th Perry Flot 4th Ben Lind 3rd Steve Barbee 2nd Ron Mayer 1st Mike Hubbard.  Bass Master – Mike Hubbard.

Presentation – Ben Lind gave tips on pre – tournament preparation. Some points touched on were pre rigging, sharpening hooks, stretching line and re-tying often. Be prepared to change up with conditions. Fishing a confidence bait and having patience and persistence.
