Full Moon Open- A vote on
the date for the 2010 FMO was tabled as we didn’t think we had a quorum. Next meeting we will decide between June 26th,
2010 or July 24th, 2010. Also, Sam’s Club gave a special breakfast for
organizers of the local community events that they sponsor through grants. Bernie and Jo Stein attended with Bill
Wilson. Sam’s showed their support for
next year’s event (June 5th, 2010) with a great big check for
$500.00
Colorado Bass Federation- The third quarter BOD meeting (scheduled for Durango) was
cancelled. The fourth quarter meeting is
sponsored by our own CBC and will be held at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Loveland
on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Food will be rounded up by Bill Wilson.
Junior BassMasters Club- Frank Villa reported that two of our Juniors
qualified to move up the ladder by placing at the State Championship at Horsetooth. Chris
Whittle and Cam Mills made the State Team.
Congratulations to them.
Website- Nothing to report.
Habitat Report- Lonetree Dock Project is finally completed. The dock will be pulled and stored for the
winter at the Lon Hagler DOW site.
Tournament Director- Pueblo
pairings were briefly discussed by Robert Ross.
In other tournament news, Ben Lind and Brandon White won the TBF State
Championship, while Mike Hubbard and Steve Barbee are the alternate team coming
in 7th place. Steve and Mike
also came in second at the 5280 Championship at Navajo last weekend. Mike also came in second in the co-angler
division at the Central Open Tournament at Sam Reyburn
in Texas. He and Frank filled us in on
some of the Opens information.
New Business
Weekend Tournaments- participation is down and Frank
had some suggestions on how we may keep interest of the non-boaters throughout
the season. Much discussion followed
about the possibilities, and perhaps changes that could be tried next
season. Some of these ideas included:
a) Team tournaments
b) Reinstate the Day Money for weekend tourneys (best
weight for that day)
c) Add points to the boaters score for having
non-boater success
d) Fishing for separate pots (non-boaters have pot,
boaters have a pot)
e) Making it easier for non-boaters to pre-register
for these tournaments. Brian Spencer
suggested this, and said it would have been a great help for the Norton
Tournament because he couldn’t find out until just before hand that he could
even find a travel partner. We will
discuss these options at next meeting.
FMO Protest Rule change- Mike brought up a situation
which had taken place at this year’s FMO which the steering committee had been
studying about a late protest was made.
We discussed whether we should change the time allotted for protests
from the current 30 minutes after check-in.
We would like to see this resolved next year by announcing the rules
better at the boaters meeting with a better P.A. system, and assigning a
special contact person to receive any written protest. It was mentioned that the designated person
would be in special shirt/hat and at a designated table to assist anyone
through the process. This will all be
discussed at next FMO meeting.
Frank reported about $230 had been raised through
contributions and a jackpot tourney held at Horsetooth
for our reporter friend Jason Shedd from Windsor
newspaper who was diagnosed recently with cancer.
Bill Wilson reminded everyone that we should be
thinking about 2010 lake choices and voting on them at the next meeting.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:17 p.m.
Raffle followed.
Submitted by
Bill Wilson for Perry Flot.
