President Mike Hubbard called meeting to order at 6:07 pm

17 members and 1 guest present.

Secretary report was read by Perry Flot. Motion and second to accept. Motion passed.

Treasurer report given by Mike Hubbard for Brett Vogel. Jr. Bass: $653.46. FMO: $3729.07. CBC: $521.80. Motion and second to accept. Motion passed.

TD: Robert reported that he was out of the Golden rule measure boards. Since they are the required measuring tools for Club tournaments it was suggested that the TD have some available to offer for sale. There was a motion and second for the club to buy three. Motion passed. Bill Wilson will check prices at Northern Bass Supply.

Conservation: Eric talked on the benefits of having a hook-cutting tool to help lessen mortality rates of deeply hooked fish. After some discussion there was a motion and second to require all contestants to posses this tool. Motion was opposed. There was then a motion and second for the ruling to read: All boats that compete in CBC tournaments must posses a hook cutting tool. Motion passed.

This will be added to the Tournament rules for Centennial Bass Club.

Old Business: On going discussion to try and recruit and keep member participation. Changing to a team format would require that rules and bylaws would need to be re-written. Icebreaker tournament, separate from the point counting tournaments, maybe setup as a team tournament to start the season. Jackpot format using one of the scheduled tournament dates to bring in new members. It was also suggested that the TD try to introduce new faces to the group. This discussion was tabled until the January, 2010 meeting.

Bagging for tips at Bass Pro: Bill Wilson has a volunteer sign up sheet. He also has posters and signs for the event. The money made will be designated for gift cards for Boaters, Helpers and special prizes for contestants. All proceeds will go for the local event. All volunteers for the BPS weekend must be 18 years of age.

“Dead fish penalty” There is no ruling or penalty at this time. Should there be a dead fish penalty? A vote by show of hands was taken. Majority voted yes. What should the penalty be? Suggestions: ½ lb or equal to 8 points, point value of a 14-inch fish, ½ of the points that would be allotted were the fish scored on a card or 1 lb. A vote was taken by show of hands. Majority ruled that the penalty should be ½ lb or equal to 8 points. It was also suggested that there be a time limit to verify that a fish is still alive and that a dead fish cannot be culled off of a card.

The new ruling will read: There shall be a “Dead fish penalty” assessed of ½ lb or equal to 8 points on a card tournament for a dead fish. The time limit to verify that a fish is still alive will be one minute. A dead fish cannot be culled from a competitor’s card. There was a motion and second. Motion passed. This ruling will be added to CBC tournament rules.

Increasing membership: Frank will get flier information to Brian for BPS weekend.

Officer Nominations: There were no new nominations for officers to be added. Eric Bergeson asked that his name be withdrawn from the nomination for Conservation Director.  Motion and second to close nominations. Motion passed.

Trout award: No new nominations. Motion and second to close nominations. Motion passed.

Jerry smith award: No new nominations. Motion and second to close nominations. Motion passed.

FMO: Official date is to be June 26th, 2010. There will be a meeting for anyone interested in helping. Bill Wilson will decide the date for this meeting at a later time.

FMO protest ruling amendment. It now reads that all protests must be submitted within 30 minutes from the end of the tournament. Motion and second that it should read; All protests must be filed by the conclusion of the tournament weigh in. Motion passed.

It was also discussed that the pre tournament meeting will highlight this procedure and that the tournament officials will be introduced or have a cap or shirt to allow the contestants to be able to recognize them easier.

Jr. Club: Championships will coincide with divisionals held at Yuma, AZ.

Website: Frank suggested adding a Facebook link to the website. He will get the site and roster updated soon.

Federation: Note that the federation is not a 5013C. Fed dues did go up $10; they are now $30.Casting Kids was cut out from BASS program. Jr. kids compete at the championship level at the age they were when they qualified. BASS has new logos for next year. Membership cards have to be printed from the Bass insider website.

Club vote: should it be responsibility of clubs to collect entry fees for STQT? CBC votes to leave as they are doing now.

Divisionals: No more payouts for 2nd –10th places. There should be more information after next BOD meeting. All 2010 STQT members are asked to attend January BOD meeting.

2010 Jr. State championships to be held at Pueblo.

Federation has Motorguide trolling motor and cases of oil for sale. Talk to Mike if interested.

2010 STQT, Lake Havasu, 1st week of March. Mike will update Federation web page.

Does CBC want to be dual affiliated? Show of hands vote: No. 

Habitat: City of Greeley project has been given the ok to proceed. Frank will meet with Sarah after the 1st of the year. Question was asked if CBC wanted to participate. There were 5 votes for. Frank will write a proposal for the project.

New Business:

Jerry Smith Award: Frank Villa and Robert Ross. Winner will be announced at January meeting.

Bill Wheedelton’s wife has been in ICU at Hospital. Suggested that the Club do something for them. Motion and second to send a card and plant and also a Visa gift card with the maximum amount being $100 for the gifts. Motion passed.

Club Dues: Suggestions were made to keep dues from going up too much, Not contributing the extra $10 to the Classic, Getting donations or having the FMO monies fund that part. Discussion for a fundraiser was tabled until next meeting.

 Motion and second to set 2010 CBC dues at $57 and to change the bylaws by removing the $10 to the Classic part. Motion passed. Frank will make the changes on the website.

Christmas party will be held at Mike Hubbard’s home, Saturday Dec. 5th. Starting at 7:00pm. His address is 489 Arrowhead Dr. Loveland.

Brian Spencer talked about the Barlow Foundation; a charity that helps outdoors minded people and their families that are battling cancer. He gave a great presentation to the group and also had some decals for a $5 donation.

There will be an email going out asking for suggestions for a new meeting place.
