CBC Meeting Minutes

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order with 14 members and 2 guests, Eric Mathews and Aaron Schroeder, in attendance.

Secretary's Report: The secretary read the minutes from the Nov. meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the secretary's report-motion carried.

Treasurers Report: In the Treasurers absence, Bill Wilson reported that the club has $2157.03 in its treasury. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurers report-motion carried.

Bill Wilson also read a letter from The Larimer County Food Bank program thanking CBC for their donation of $100.

Tournament Directors Report: The Tournament Director reported that boaters must submit copies of their boat insurance to the Tournament Director for the upcoming 2006 season.

Conservation Directors Report: Conservation Director not present.

 

Old Business:

Bill Wilson reported to the membership the results of the FMO Steering Committee's decision to form a Sponsorship Committee to handle the sponsors for the 2006 FMO.

Castind Kids: Chairperson not present. VP Villa reported that The Denver Bassmasters will be hosting a Casting Kids event at The Denver Boat Show 12-15 Jan 2006. CBC may be asked to help.

2006 Schedule: Pres. Lind read the proposed 2006 schedule and opened the floor for discussion. The STQT will be held the last week of April 2006 at The Grand Lake of The Cherokee's near Miami Okla.

Much discussion followed concerning the club's local tournaments. Ken Graham made a motion to switch the Horsetooth Mini on 2 May with The Lone Tree Mini on 11 July-Robert Ross seconded-motion failed. Jeremy Montoya made a motion to switch The Chatfield Mini on 16 May with The Lone Tree Mini on 11 July. Motion failed for a lack of a second. A motion was made by Tim Martinez to accept the 2006 schedule as written. Seconded by Ron Meyer-motion carried.

Club Classic: Merritt Res. Valentine Neb.-6-7 May 2006. VP Villa covered the possible accomodations at Merritt Res. along with the names of the chain motels available in Valentine.

Federation BOD: CBC hosted the BOD meeting on 19 Nov. 2005 at The Sportsmans Warehouse. The resigning director, John Bentz, was presented with a $50 gift certificate from CBC. It was announced at the meeting that fishing licenses would be increased bt $5 for the 2006 season and that a Habitat Stamp would be a required purchase when buying a fishing license.

The ongoing rift between BASS and the various state federations that is taking place over a $5 dues increase was discussed at great length. There are letters explaining both sides of the issue available for CBC members. VP Villa explained the breakdown of dues paid to both BASS and the state federation.

Website: The new tournament schedule is posted on the website as well as information concerning this years Christmas party at VP Villas residence.

CBC club cards were again discussed with no decision reached.

The Tournament Director passed out this years awards to the club's top ten anglers. 10th place went to Mike Hubbard: 9th place went to VP Villa: 7th place is shared by Ken Graham and Chris Kido: 5th place is shared by Pres. Lind and Jeremy Montoya: 4th place went to Pete Marshall: 3rd place went to Tim Martinez: 2nd place went to Eric Bergersen: 1st place went to Bill Wilson. Congrats to all winners. Bassmaster of the year went to Jeremy Montoya. Pres. Lind won the Club Classic. It was suggested that the club have a rookie of the year award.

Pres. Lind presented The Gerry Smith Sportsmanship Award to Bill Wilson.

Robert Ross was awarded the Annual Trout Award.

 

New Business:

Bill Wilson suggested that the club have a swap meet in Jan. Subject tabled until Jan. meeting.

There being no further business before the floor, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting-meeting adjourned.

Next meeting: 3 Jan. 2006-Gamblers Steakhouse.

A raffle followed the meeting.
