CBC Meeting Minutes

7 June 2005

 

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order following the club’s mini-tournament at Carter Lake.

20 members were present along with Ron Mayer, a guest from Evans Colo.

Secretarys Report:  The secretary read the minutes of the May meeting.  There was one correction.

The Gerry Smith Angler of the Year Award was corrected to read The Gerry Smith Sportsman of the Year Award.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the corrected report-motion carried. 

Treasurers Report:  The treasurer reported that the club has $1542.21 in its treasury.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the treasurers report-motion carried. 

Tournament Directors Report:  Tim Martinez reported that all the club members’ insurance papers have been received and are up to date. 

Old Business:

Full Moon Open:  VP Villa reported that all entry forms have been printed up and placed in The Sportsman’s Warehouse as well as being handed out at tonight’s meeting.

Federation BOD:  VP Villa and Jeff Colwell will attend the meeting on 20 Aug. 2005.  The agenda will be out on 1 July 2005.  Bernie Stein was awarded a plaque as Conservation Director for The Colo. Bass federation.

DOW Appreciation Day:  Bill Wilson reported that the event has been rescheduled into Sept. Details to follow.

Cast Event:  Bill Wilson reported that all is ready to go on Sat 11 June. Sam’s Club donated $600 towards the food, at least 9 boats from CBC will be there as well as other volunteers.  Volunteers will assemble at 6AM at Horsetooth and the kids will start arriving at 7AM.  Other questions were answered by Bill Wilson following the meeting.

Website:  VP Villa said that an updated club roster is now available on the website.

CBC Shirts:  VP Villa said that if new members wanted a CBC shirt to contact him after the meeting.  VP Villa is also talking to other embroiderers.

New Business:

Volunteers are needed to help with a fishing symposium at both Heron Lake and at Louie Swift’s Ponds.  See Chad LaChance and Bill Wilson.

Box Butte Tournament:  Bill Wilson reported that a good time was had by all who attended the Box Butte Tournament 3-5 June.  Plenty of fish were caught, both bass and pike, despite the rain on Sat.

Boater, Non-Boater Courtesy:  Bill Wilson gave a very detailed description of boater-non boater courtesy and responsibilities.  Pres Lind opened the floor for discussion on this subject and both Jeff Colwell and Bernie Stein went into some detail on the subject. 

Take a Kid Fishing:  Doug Johns reported that he had 4 kids to go fishing and only 3 boats.  1 more was needed.  Anyone interested, see Doug.

Casting Kids:  No report

There being no further business before the club, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn-motion carried.
