CBC Meeting Minutes

Pres. Lind called the meeting to order following the club's second mini-tournament at Horsetooth Res.

There were 16 members present and one new member from Greeley, Jon Anaya.

Secretarys Report:The Secretary read the meeting minutes from the April meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the secretary's report-motion carried.

Treasurers Report: The Treasurer was not present but the secretary gave the following report as to the finances of CBC. There is $1280.66 in the treasury with funds from the Club Classic and new members not yet deposited. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurers report-motion carried.

Tournament Directors Report: Tim Martinez first said that all insurance papers have been turned in. He then gave a report on the Club Classic held at Cedar Bluffs Res. in Kansas the weekend of 9 and 10 April 2005. Due to inclement weather, the second day of the tournament was cancelled. Ben Lind placed first, Frank Villa placed second and Eric Bergersen placed third. Tim said that non-boaters are need for the club's next tournament at Cedar Bluffs the weekend of 14-15 may 2005.

Old Business:

Full Moon Open: VP Villa went thru the list of sponsors we have for the FMO and gave a report as to those sponsors who have paid and those who have not. VP Villa will put together the flyers so they can be handed out and so T-Shirts can be made up. He then gave a report on The Club Classic held at Cedar Bluffs Res. in April.

BOD Meeting: The meeting will be held in Durango Colo. with no date set as of yet. Pres. Lind asked for volunteers to go with him.

Pres. Lind brought up the idea of having a club trophy to be awarded to the club's angler of the year and have it named after Gerry Smith. There was much positive feedback concerning this subject. Bill Wilson made a motion that the club shoud indeed have a trophy named after Gerry Smith and it should be awarded to the club's angler of the year every year from now on. Jeremy Montoya seconded the motion-motion carried. Pres. Lind will follow up. Pres. Lind then read a thank you card from the Gerry Smith family to CBC.

Bill Wilson gave an update on the DOW Appreciation day, but discussion was tabled due to the posibility of a date change. Bill also talked about the CAST event on June 11 at Horsetooth. There is a grant from Sams Club to help pay for the food. Bill is also taking names of volunteers for this event.

Jeff Colwell and Jeremy Montoya gave a very interesting report on the STQT at Table Rock Lake a few weeks ago. Jeff took 4th place and Jeremy took 8th place making them both eligible for the Divisional in Aug.  Congrats. to both.

VP Villa gave a quick update on the website.

Pres. Lind is going to pursue members not present at tonights meeting to see if more interest can be generated in The Cedar Bluffs Tourney.

New Business:

Take a Kid Fishing: Bill Wilson read a letter from Doug Johns concerning this event then went into a description of what would take place. Volunteers would be needed to take 8 kids on 2 trips of 4 kids each fishing at Horsetooth Res. Decision was not reached as Doug Johns was not present.

There was a lot of discussion about the fees that Larimer Cty. is charging for the club's tournaments.

Fishing Skills Seminar tabled until the June meeting as was the Casting for Kids.

VP Villa asked for volunteers to enter their vehicles and boats in The Independence Day Parade in Greeley, no takers.

VP Villa also requested that the club sponsor him in the Relay For Life Run put on by The Greeley Fire Dept. This is for The American Cancer Society. Jeremy Montoya made a motion for the club to sponsor VP Villa to the tune of $100-motion seconded and passed.

There being no further business before the club, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:45PM. Motion carried-meeting adjourned.
