CBC Meeting Minutes

Call to order by Pres. Ben Lind

Welcoming of guests.

14 members and 7 guests present.

 

Secretary's Report: Secretary's report read. Motion made and seconded to accept Secretary's report as read. Motion carried.

 

Treasurers Report: No Treasurers report was available as the Treasurer was not present.

 

Tournament Directors Report: Tournament Director Tim Martinez reported that all permits for the Kansas and Nebraska tournaments have been received in good order.

 

Full Moon Open: Bill Wilson gave a report stating that all sponsors are on board for the FMO. He also stated that volunteers are needed for the FMO to help with weigh-ins, banners etc. He also suggested that the club have a 1 day tournament to be used as a fund raiser around the time of the FMO.  Much discussion followed-no action taken.

 

Pres. Lind brought up the filming of a tournament. Again there was much discussion and again there were more negative comments that positive ones. Subject tabled until Terry Wickstrom could be reached.

 

BOD meeting held in Colo. Spgs. in Feb. Pres. Lind asked for volunteers to help. Also the finals for The Casting for Kids will be held in Colo. Spgs. 4-6 March 2005 in conjunction with a local boat show.

 

Pres. Lind gave a report on the 1st Quarter BOD meeting. A motion was made and seconded to give the STQT $35. Motion carried.

 

Vice Pres. Frank Villa gave a report on the new web page for the State Federation. He also went into some detail as to how the Western Division is being changed in terms of the way the tournaments are being run.

 

Pres. Lind asked Bill Wilson to elaborate on the rule changes that were tabled from the Jan. meeting. Again the subject of life vests (Rule 7) was a topic of some discussion. Also, the late arrival rule, #14 was discussed. The appropriate wording was agreed upon and Bill Wilson will make the necessary changes and bring those changes to the March meeting.

 

VP Villa requested members to check the CBC website to make sure all personal info was correct. If any changes need be made, contact VP Villa.

 

The CBC shirts are done and are at the embroiderer in Loveland, 309 West 10th St.$37.

 

New Business.

Father/Son fishing trip. Doug Johns not present so the matter was tabled until next meeting.

Casting for Kids. Craig McMillin reported that everything is good to go for the 19th and 20th of Feb. 2005 at The Ranch. Volunteers were asked for and a sign up sheet was passed around for that purpose. Pres. Lind gave a quick overview of the Casting for Kids for the benefit of guests present.

VP Villa and Pete Marshall covered the Club Classic. Pres. Lind gave a description of the Club Classic for the benefit of our guests. It was decided that those 14 members participating in the Club Classic would have a short meeting after the regular business meeting. Pete Marshall stated that the permit had been received. Bill Wilson gave a brief dissertation of the Club Classic for the benefit of our guests. VP Villa has been in touch with the owner of The Cedar Bluff's Lodge and is presently in negotiations with the owner to secure the entire Lodge for the duration of the Club Classic. Much discussion followed. It was decided that VP Villa would talk with the owners again before any money was sent for reservations. Don Vaughn passed out information on a guide service available at Cedar Bluffs.

Pres. Lind asked for a volunteer to take over his duties as activities director for the club. Robert Ross volunteered.

Don Vaughn gave a description of The ABA tournaments for our guests.

Bill Wilson talked about a fishing clinic at Heron Lake RV Park. No date has yet been set. Bill W. will follow up.

Pres. Lind gave out info on a reel cleaning/repair service. Cost is $10 per reel.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30PM. A raffle was held following the meeting. 4 new members were signed up.
